immediately after you have finished fishing. Deadline for seasonal report is September 21th at the latest.

FISHING – TACKLE:
Only a fishing rod is legal tackle. The use of more than one fishing rod at a time is not permitted. The rod must not be left unattended during the fishing.
Maximum 3 hooks (one treble = 3 hooks). Legal baits: Worm, spoon, spinner, wobbler and fly. Plastic tubes or floats which can retain water are not permitted. These are not easily disinfected and may import fish diseases, most especially Gyrodactilus Salar, from other rivers.

MINIMUM LENGTH:
Minimum length for salmon and seatrout is 35 cm. It is not allowed to catch more than 3 salmons and 3 seatrouts per day (24 hours).

MOVING:
Since the Sokna River is a rather small river, it is necessary that all anglers show respect towards one another and do not occupy the presumably best fishing spots for too prolonged a time. It is required that a change-of-places is exercised.

Some basic rules:

Fly fishing: You fish through a stretch of water and then leave the water, giving others a chance to have their turn. If you wish to fish the same beat over again, you start at the top of the stretch, possibly having to wait for your turn to come. At places, where you are blocked from moving farther downstream by obstacles, or at larger holes, you should not occupy these spots for longer than 30 minutes.

Worm fishing: Worm fishing is by nature a rather stationary business. It is allowed to remain in one place for 30 minutes, leaving it then to possible other anglers.

Spoon, Spinner, Wobbler fishing: Most of the places in the Sokna River suited for this type of fishing are rather small. These spots tend to become crowded rather quickly. Do not stay in such places longer than 30 minutes.

Please be aware of the fact, that the river and most of the more popular fishing places can be well observed from roads and other places. Your fellow anglers, who might be on the lookout for an "empty" spot, also know this.

Anglers not following the rules of "moving", will meet with reactions by the river attendants.

SUPERVISION:
Attendants are patrolling along the river daily. Fishing licences have to be shown to the attendants on request. They will also see to the above rules of moving.

There are garbage bins set out along the river, especially at popular places, where also benches and tables are set up. Please use these and do not dispose off your waste in nature.

DISINFECTION

To avoid infection with Gyrodactilus Salar, which would ruin the fishery
completely, all fishing tackle, including rubber boots and other wading gear,
must be disinfected before the fishing in the river Sokna starts. On relocation
from river to river, the fishing tackle must be disinfected each time.
Disinfection is done at Bakkaåno Camping, Kurt Mydland (Malmbanen 51) or at Strandaveien, see map
